Truckies encouraged to promote road safety at TruckWeek 2012

The trucking industry in Australia is preparing to celebrate TruckWeek, a national event celebrating the work truckies do.

Being held on 19-25 August 2012, truck drivers and businesses are encouraged to demonstrate how trucking can promote road safety.

The Chairman of the Australian Trucking Association, David Simon, said trucking businesses can take advantage of the celebration to show what they do, as well as promoting road safety.

“Trucking delivers three-quarters of Australia’s freight, we have made great strides on safety and we have some of the most dedicated staff in the country. It’s time to celebrate trucking and show Australia how we deliver,” said Mr Simon.

More information about the TruckWeek celebration can be accessed through the official TruckWeek website.
