A falling branch hit a worker that was removing trees from a property in Warragul last Thursday.

The tree lopper died after the branch broke and fell onto him at about five in the afternoon.

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the accident.

According to WorkSafe this is the third workplace fatality in five days with a 71 year old farmer crushed in a grain auger on Wednesday near Euroa and a 77 year old farmer died after his ute rolled in Noorat.

Lisa Sturzenegger, WorkSafe Health and Safety Operations General Manager, has said these deaths again highlight the requirement for all businesses to give a high priority to worker safety.
