SafeWork SA to Investigate Rail Worker Accident

SafeWork SA is set to investigate the cause of an accident on Wednesday 12th September at Lynton Tce, Seaford.

A 21-year-old worker was injured at the Seaford rail extension at about 12 noon when his leg was struck by an excavator at the site. He was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre where he is in a serious but stable condition.

A Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure spokesperson declined to comment on the workers injuries but did say that the department was willing to follow any directions given by SafeWork SA at the conclusion of their investigation into the incident.
