There is one more week left to comment on the future of explosives regulation before public comment period closes on 10 September 2015.
All businesses, industries, workers and the wider community are reminded to send their comments on the Explosives Regulation in Australia: A Discussion Paper and Consultation Regulation Impact Statement.
“SafeWork Australia is seeking comment on the current regulation of explosives and the impact this regulation may have on those involved in the explosives industry,” said SafeWork Australia Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Baxter.
“Variations between jurisdictions’ explosives regulation may have an impact on businesses, workers, regulators, interest groups and law enforcement agencies.
“This is an excellent opportunity for individuals, businesses and industries who import, manufacture, transport, store, supply, use and export explosives to provide information on any issues that may be raised by regulatory variations across jurisdictions, including the nature and extent of the impact of such issues on them.
“I strongly encourage anyone involved with explosives to have their say on explosives regulation in Australia. The input received will help inform policy options and shape advice to Ministers on the future regulation of explosives,” said Ms Baxter.
The Discussion Paper was released on 30 July 2015.
Public comment period is open until 5.30pm AEST, Thursday 10 September 2015.
More information about this is found on the Safe Work Australia Public Submissions site.
