Safe Work Australia released an Issues Paper on Friday for the review of the national guidance material –Working Safely on the Waterfront which is now open for public comment.

A review of the national guidance material is being conducted to identify content that must be adapted for inclusion in a model code of practice for stevedoring. This code of practice is currently under development to support the harmonised WHS laws. The code of practice is intended to eventually replace the national guidance material.
