Fatal Accident on Barge in Spencer Gulf

A 37-year-old Whyalla man died in an accident yesterday morning around 9am at a floating platform offshore in the Spencer Gulf.

The barge was used to transport iron ore and a spokesperson for his employer has said that the cause of his death is unknown because they are still waiting on further information.

Safework SA are investigating and will not release details until they have investigated and the local police will prepare a report for the coroner.
