Crane Injures Pedestrian in WA

A man was seriously injured when a part of a crane came loose and struck him as the truck on which the crane was being transported passed him.

The 57-year-old pedestrian was struck by the boom of a crane that had become dislodged at about 10 am today as he was walking along the Great Eastern Hwy in Kalgoorlie.

He was transported to the Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital with critical head injuries by the attending Paramedics and then airlifted to Perth via the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The incident is being investigated by Police at this stage.
