The CFMEU led a march of ACT construction workers to the Legislative Assembly in Canberra this morning to insist on Canberra’s construction sites becoming safer workplaces.

The march began at Glebe Park and was led by Mrs Catanzariti whose 21-year-old son Ben was killed in a workplace accident on a Kingston construction site in July.

She addressed the workers saying that she felt that her family had been broken the death of Ben and that she felt dedicated to fight for construction industry safety as a result.

The rally was also addressed by the Attorney General Simon Corbell, Amanda Bresnan an ACT Greens MLA and Vicki Dunne from the Canberra Liberal Party with all three pledging their support for the ACT construction industry workplace safety inquiry that is in progress.
